科學技術是第一生產力，護理科研是推動護理學科發展原動力。澳門地區的護理科研是伴隨著澳門護理教育的發展而進步的。澳門護理教育從醫院創辦的學徒制升格為高等院校開辦高等教育之後，澳門的護理科研經歷了較快的發展，已在某些領域積累了較好的研究基礎，同時也面臨不少挑戰。今後澳門的護理科研應克服以往不足，利用粵港澳大灣區合作融合和本地護理教育飛速發展的機遇，走適合本地特點的科研發展之路。

Science and technology are the primary productive forces for society. In the same way the scientific research drives the development of nursing sciences. Macau has witnessed the rapid development in nursing research since local nursing education upgraded from hospital-based apprentice model to higher institute-based education. Nursing research in Macau has established sound foundations in some healthcare respects, in addition to the overall advancement. However, challenges and problems have emerged which may deter further progress of the local nursing research. Nursing researchers in Macau should learn from previous research practices and capitalize on the opportunities offered by the Greater Bay integration framework and the progresses in local nursing education to continuously advance nursing research in the future.
